Summary

Fernbank Museum of Natural History is seeking a Public Programs Manager to oversee the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of educational experiences for children, teens, families, and adult audiences.

Reporting to the Director of Education, this position leads a diverse portfolio of public programming, including STEAM Lab programs, daytime drop-in experiences, birthday programs, summer and school break camps, and select museum-wide events. The Public Programs Manager also supervises the Public Programs Coordinator, part-time Exhibit Facilitators, seasonal camp staff, and interns.

The ideal candidate brings experience in science or informal education, program development, and staff supervision, along with strong organizational and communication skills. This role is well suited for an adaptable, collaborative educator who enjoys creating engaging learning experiences, leading teams, and connecting people with science and the natural world.

This is a Tuesday–Saturday position with occasional evening and holiday work as programming needs require.
