P/T Education Specialist

The P/T Education Specialist facilitates and supports Estuary EDventures’ field trips and summer camp programs of all ages at the Auer Marine Education Center located in Tierra Verde. They also assist in aquarium husbandry and program development.  

Responsibilities Include:

• Serve as facilitator for field trip programs and summer camp programs
• Maintain Marine Education Center/Classroom and program materials
• Assist in set-up and clean-up of daily programs
• Design, develop, and implement education programs and materials 
• Perform various in-field activities such as trawling, seining, and kayaking
• Collect and identify species of the bay
• Perform a variety of aquarium husbandry tasks
• Assist in training and guiding interns
• Serve as a mate on USCG-certified beach catamaran / Participate in USCG Consortium random drug testing program
• Serve as kayak program lead 
• Maintain knowledge of emergency protocol with the ability to implement emergency action plans / Maintain valid adult and pediatric first aid and CPR/AED certifications
• Participate in departmental meetings and trainings
• Other duties as assigned
