Summary
Specific Duties and Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:
Project WET – 70%
- Organize and lead professional development workshops for educators; prepare related materials
- Recruit, train and support a statewide network of volunteer facilitators to help carry out about 25 workshops per year
- Write and edit the quarterly Project WET newsletter to provide resources and maintain program communications
- Coordinate program logistics: scheduling, materials, evaluation and reporting
- Represent Project WET at educational events and conferences
- Maintain databases and registration systems for workshops
- Update the Foundation’s Project WET webpage as needed and contribute to social media; take photos at workshops
- Assist with grant writing and reporting
Foundation Programs – 30%
- Support Foundation conferences, educational tours and water leadership programs
- Assist with planning, registration and logistics
- Provide occasional tour support, photography and on-site event help
- Represent WEF at community outreach events and conference
- Design engaging flyers and presentations across multiple digital platforms
Other Duties
- Keeps up-to-date on current water issues across the West and develops contacts
- Attends Board of Directors meetings as needed
- Attends multi-day water tours to assist Programs Director as all team members do
- Other duties as assigned
Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with teacher training or professional development is highly desirable
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and online registration systems WordPress experience highly desirable.
- Experience with design platforms such as Canva or Publisher desirable
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, communication, environmental science or a related field
- Minimum of three to five years’ experience in education or water programming
- California teaching credential preferred; active Project WET facilitator highly desirable
- Knowledge of California water issues and the education landscape, and experience working with K-12 educators and school systems
- Experience with curriculum development and teacher development training
- Valid California driver’s license and ability to travel statewide with occasional overnight stays
Hybrid Position: Required to work onsite in our Sacramento office Tuesday through Thursday; remote days on most Mondays and Fridays.

Compensation Information
Salary/Benefits:
$68,000 – $73,000 annually for this salaried position, depending on experience. Various factors, including the complexity and significance of the role, job duties/requirements, relevant experience and abilities, determine individual compensation.
Job includes excellent benefits – 100 percent medical, dental, vision for employee; paid vacation, sick time and holidays; 403(b) retirement plan with generous employer contributions starting at 7 percent of salary.
