The deadline is February 9. Please help spread the word.
The Program and Event Facilitator will help the Nature Engagement Specialist promote Nature Play across Chicago. This will include maintaining the 14 existing spaces as well as working with communities and children to develop and design new spaces. In addition, they will help program these spaces and encourage nature play through internal and external trainings and experiences.
Organization is an asset as we create and build multi-year relationships with communities, identifying the local resources and stakeholders and attending Park Advisory Council meetings as needed. Guiding the group through the steps from interest in a Nature Play Space in their park to final construction.
Examples of public programs include design sessions with youth making small scale models of Nature Play Spaces with Nature Play kits, large scale pop-up events with large logs and log pieces, teachers trainings to encourage comfort teaching outside and supporting parks to make the most of their outdoor spaces.
Some early mornings, evenings or weekends will be required. Candidates must live in Chicago and be able to travel to all locations across the city.
Please send any questions to sean.shaffer@chicagoparkdistrict.com
