The River Raisin Institute (RRI) sponsors educational works to respect, nurture, and promote the well-being of all creation. The institute collaborates with others to promote transformational learning and sustainable community for the 21st century and beyond. The RRI Program Coordinator is responsible for the development and administration of the River Raisin Institute's environmental education, sustainability awareness, and ecological stewardship programs across Monroe County.

Summary

The Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and administering the Institute’s programs, which includes planning, developing, and implementing the program activity. The Program Coordinator works to ensure that the RRI (River Raisin Institute) vision and mission are carried out effectively, efficiently, consistently, and collaboratively in all aspects of programming. Working with the Executive Director, who has primary responsibility for the overall administration of the Institute, the Program Coordinator will develop, plan, coordinate, and implement programs and activities in the following areas:

Environmental education, specifically
- Climate literacy programs in the schools
- Environmental Career Days
- Lake Erie Water Festival
- River Raisin Water Festival
- Budding Naturalists
Sustainability Awareness Programs
- Earth Day
- The Gathering
- Urban Farm at Monroe County Community College
- Other sustainable community programs, events, and initiatives
Ecological Stewardship
- Western Lake Erie Collaborative Conservation Community of the Stewardship Network
- Clean the Beach events
- Invasive Species Removal

Compensation Information

$25 an hour
