Program Assistant

This position reports to the Program Manager and the successful candidate will aid in the delivery of nature and history-based educational programs for all ages – including classroom and homeschool groups, as well as summer visitors and farmers market participants. The farm experience is an integral part of the museum visit and the Program Assistant will be interacting with various farm animals and should be comfortable handling, feeding, and working with small animals.

Minimum Qualifications: Must be 21 years of age or older and have a valid driver’s license. Must possess a degree in education, history, environmental science, outdoor or experiential education, or other related fields. The successful candidate will have 1-3 years’ experience in hands-on education or museum interpretation, preferably in an outdoor setting.

Please note that this is a seasonal position, ideally beginning in May and continuing through October, however college or graduate students looking for professional experience are encouraged to apply for a three-month position.
