Part Time Environmental Educator

The Part-Time Environmental Educator helps develop and teach hands-on environmental education activities in local preschools, elementary schools, parks, private homes, senior living facilities and other locations.

Schedule: Average 25-30 hours/week (40+ during 4-6 weeks of summer camp). Includes some weekend and occasional evening hours.

Rate: $15/hr

Requirements:

• Enthusiastic, outgoing college graduate or current college student with degree or course work in environmental science, education or related field
• Minimum of one year of experience (formal or informal) teaching or guiding children and/or adults in some manner
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather, walk over rough terrain, and frequently lift and carry 25 pounds, and rarely lift up to 40 pounds
• Must be willing to work with live animals including reptiles, amphibians, small mammals, birds, insects, and spiders.
• Comfortable being the sole staff person on park premises if necessary
• Must be able to pass FBI, DHS Child Line and PA State Police Criminal Background Checks and drug test; must have a valid driver’s license
