Four work locations with different schedules (apply separately for area of interest):
- Park Ranger (Temporary) - Historic Cemeteries and Nature Parks - Blue Lake
- Park Ranger (Temporary) - Historic Cemeteries and Nature Parks - Borland Field Office
- Park Ranger (Temporary) - Oxbow Regional Park
- Park Ranger (Temporary) - Blue Lake Park
These positions perform a wide variety of tasks essential to park operations and the Metro system of nature parks, cemeteries, and natural areas. The primary role of this position will be to serve as a temporary Park Ranger interacting with the public, assisting guests, constructing and maintaining developed infrastructure, protecting natural and historic resources, and ensuring all guests are aware of and complying with all applicable park rules and regulations. This position may also be required to direct seasonal and/or temporary staff as assigned in a variety of tasks that include, but are not limited to, construction, maintenance, repairs of park and recreational facilities and all associated systems.
In this temporary Park Ranger role, you will help the parks provide a safe and welcoming experience.
Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent from an accredited college with major course work in parks, natural resources, education, horticulture, or forestry, AND
- Three years park ranger related public recreation, maintenance, construction, operations, sustainability, and evaluation responsibilities OR
- Any combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the classification duties and responsibilities.
Special Requirements:
- A valid driver's license
- Ability to obtain first Aid/CPR certification
Driving Record Check: The candidate selected for the position will need to pass a Driving Record check prior to being hired. Speeding tickets do not necessarily preclude employment and will be evaluated on a case by case basis
