Summary
The Columbia Land Conservancy brings people together to conserve, appreciate, and enjoy land. For nearly 40 years, CLC has collaborated with individuals, communities, and partners to ensure Columbia County is a beautiful, livable, resilient place. Columbia County is located on the ancestral homelands of the Mohican people, who are the Indigenous peoples of this land.
Learning Goals
- Collaboratively practice outdoor interpretation skills
- Build Intern’s proficiency in digital and in-person outreach.
- Learn best practices for partnership and collaboration with other organizations to deliver programming. rogram evaluation.
- Provide Intern regular feedback toward meeting workplace expectations.
- Help Intern access professional role models and mentors.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with communications program
- Take photos at public events
- Create social media graphics and posts
- Publicize events through posting on community calendars and writing press releases
- Create short-form videos and StoryMaps for use on social media and CLC website
- Assist with education programs
- Attend programs and summer camps as support
- If interested, there is an opportunity to lead a program in an area of interest
- Represent CLC at community events while sharing information about programs offered and answering questions
Other tasks as your interests and passions allow! CLC believes internships are learning experiences and will work with the selected candidate to ensure that both professional and organization goals are achieved.

Compensation Information
Position Status: 35 hours per week with flexibility
Term: 12 weeks, Mid-May – August (flexible)
Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday, with some evenings required
Reports to: Director of Marketing and Communications
Compensation: $16/hour, paid holidays (Memorial Day, Juneteenth, and July 4), 2 days of sick leave, $100/month travel stipend totaling $300
