YMCA Camp Campbell is looking for a Program Director to join their Outdoor Science School leadership team.
This position will supervise a team of high quality educators, develop and update curriculum and work closely with many other departments to ensure the longevity and success of the Outdoor School program.

Summary

Under direction of the Senior Program Director, the Outdoor Science Director implements the functioning of Outdoor Science School programming by supporting students, volunteers, teachers, parents and staff. This position will take charge of all programming and staff for the Outdoor Science School. Duties will include hiring and supervising staff, scheduling activities and programming for groups up to 300 campers and staff, logistical organization (Meals, Check-in and out, etc...).

Some Essential Functions

  • Hiring, training, and coaching a diverse staff team and volunteers
  • Monitors curriculum facilitation and development to match current NGSS and expectations.
  • Responsible for leading and collecting various evaluation tools.
  • Develops and controls department budget as related to the position

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate Degree in a relevant field and/or residential camping experience preferred
  • Model the values of the YMCA of Silicon Valley and the individual worth of children.
  • CPR and First Aid certified (can be obtained upon hire)
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with students, volunteers, staff, teachers, and parents from diverse backgrounds.
  • Must have good decision making skills, and the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
  • Experience planning and facilitating large group programming.
  • Ability to positively engage and interact with school age children
  • YMCA Approved driver (can be obtained upon hire; requires clean driving record and passing drug test).

Compensation Information

SALARY RANGE: $78,500-$80,000
