Seeking outdoor science educator (full time, $40K-$45K). This is a dynamic and mission-driven organization which focuses on delivering outdoor science education to youth, especially students who have the least access to programs like ours. You’ll find working here is rewarding and fulfilling.

Summary

Sierra Nevada Journeys is hiring for Outdoor Science Core Educators (including one Bilingual Spanish Speaking Educator) with our Classrooms Unleashed program in Sacramento, California; these are full-time positions. We're also hiring part-time Field Educators for Reno, NV and Sacramento. Get hands-on training using the best practices from the University of California at Berkeley’s BEETLES (Better Environmental Education, Teaching, Learning & Expertise Sharing) and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). You’ll get to teach science education and outdoor learning in a variety of settings including in the classroom setting and outdoors on field days at local nature areas. You will also lead family and community engagement events, Family STEM Nights. Programs are grade-level designed for students first through eighth grade. This is an opportunity to get away from the typical classroom setting and mentor youth in new and different environments. Our students span a variety of communities; some come from schools and communities where they’ve been denied access to high-quality STEM opportunities.
