Maine Outdoor School, L3C (MOS), based in Milbridge, Maine, is looking to hire a charismatic, adventurous, nature-loving, driven, and creative individual to lead outdoor educational programming for MOS in every season and in all safe weather. The Outdoor School Educator will be directly responsible for supporting curriculum development, custom standards-aligned lesson planning, preparing for and delivering educational programs, and administering program evaluation tools as needed.

Summary

MOS programs occur primarily on public school campuses and nearby preserves across Hancock and Washington Counties, with the majority of programs occurring between Trenton and Milbridge. Ability and comfort with driving long distances to deliver outdoor programs is a must.

Program Description: Maine Outdoor School’s mission is to serve as an educational catalyst for personal and community resilience in Downeast Maine through the lenses of economic vitality, environmental sustainability, and social equity. MOS provides custom outdoor learning opportunities for public schools, organizations, families, and individuals through standards-aligned school programming, guiding educational nature hikes and inland paddling and fly-fishing adventures (Registered Maine Guide certification required), and professional development opportunities for adults looking to incorporate the outdoors into their work. Compensation Information

Compensation and Benefits: Salaried position based on average workweek of 35 hours/week ranging from $40,000-45,000 annually, depending on experience. Matching 401K and paid time off available. Mileage reimbursement for work-related travel provided at the federal rate.
