Outdoor Program Guide- Toddler Class

Spark Montessori seeks a full-time Outdoor Program Guide to support its Toddler Class. The Program takes place at Horner Park and runs from 3pm to 6pm year-round in all weather. The Outdoor Program focuses on helping children to build a relationship with the natural world through freely exploring the park with the support of Outdoor Guides as needed. The group may go on long walks, explore various natural play spaces, and take part in nature-related activities led by guides.

The Outdoor Toddler Guide is responsible for engaging toddlers at the park, leading small and large group acitvities, and setting up outdoor play spaces using materials provided by the school. The goal of the program is to provide children with a space to freely explore nature, and through this exploration, develop a deep connection and love for the outdoors. There is an emphasis on free play and exploration, as appropriate for the toddler age group (15 months- 3 years). The person in this role will work closely with the Outdoor Program Directors, and will have ample opportunities to learn with and from the Directors. Weekly team meetings allow for mentorship and professional development. Ample planning time is also built into the schedule for this role.
