An excellent experience in teaching and working as a youth development professional. Bring your passion and excitement to working outdoors, and striving to unleash the potential in students (4th - 6th grade) through enriching outdoor experiences. No previous experience required.
Summary
The professional Outdoor Education (OE) team at Camp Kern creates meaningful outdoor experiences for our visiting students. We lead a wide variety of natural history, living history, and group cooperation activities. Educators also run games, campfires, climbing, hayrides, canoeing, night hikes, and more.
Working at YMCA Camp Kern is an exciting and demanding experience. Our OE program serves 4th through 7th grade school groups throughout the school year. Located in southwest Ohio, Camp Kern has 480 acres of nature’s classroom. In addition to our accommodations and lodges, YMCA Camp Kern has an 1830’s log cabin, lake, ravines full of fossils, nature center, high and low ropes courses, climbing walls, zipline canopy tour, indoor horse-riding arenas, wetlands, canoeing, archery ranges, climax growth forests, and plenty more. Ohio’s largest prehistoric earthworks (Ft. Ancient) with a large Native American museum are within hiking distance, as is the scenic Little Miami River.

$12/hourly plus time and a half Overtime compensation.
