Summary
At Waskowitz Outdoor Education Center, we believe the outdoors has the power to transform lives. Our mission is to help students build meaningful connections to nature, to one another, and to themselves through engaging, hands-on outdoor learning experiences. If you're passionate about working with young people, love being outside, and want a career where every day brings something new, we'd love to meet you.
As an Outdoor Educator, you'll join a collaborative, supportive team that serves thousands of students each year through a variety of innovative programs, including Overnight Outdoor School, Living History, High School Leadership, Middle School Programs, family and community events, and educational programming for visiting groups. You'll teach environmental education, facilitate team-building and social-emotional learning, mentor high school student leaders, and help create memorable experiences that foster curiosity, confidence, belonging, and stewardship.
No two days look exactly alike. Depending on the season and your role, you may find yourself leading inquiry-based science lessons on forest trails, mentoring high school cabin leaders, facilitating campfires and evening programs, teaching Washington history, supporting family programming, or welcoming visiting groups to our beautiful campus. We value creativity, flexibility, and educators who are excited to grow alongside our programs.
At Waskowitz, we care deeply about our staff as well as our students. Our team is built on collaboration, continuous learning, and a shared commitment to creating safe, inclusive spaces where everyone belongs. Guided by our values of stewardship, joy, community, leadership, and hope, we strive to make Waskowitz a place where both students and staff can thrive.
This position offers the opportunity to work in a breathtaking outdoor setting while enjoying the stability and benefits of employment with Highline Public Schools, including a school-year schedule, excellent benefits, paid holidays, professional development opportunities, and the chance to make a lasting impact on thousands of students every year.
If you're looking for meaningful work where you can inspire future leaders, foster a love of the outdoors, and be part of an exceptional team, we encourage you to apply and join us at Waskowitz Outdoor Education Center.
