Outdoor Educator

The Rolla Outdoor Collaborative School is looking to fill a teaching position with the option to advance into a leadership role.  The qualified person will have a great affinity for teaching and all things nature-related and an understanding of the changing social and emotional needs of preschool-aged children. Ideally this person will have some experience working with children and possess knowledge of various teaching pedagogies and philosophies and be comfortable creating a curriculum that is both inclusive and culturally responsible, utilizing nature as the organizing principle for all learning. They will demonstrate great enthusiasm, creativity, and energy. The candidate will be responsible for the coordination and implementation of the curriculum with a special focus on nature centric activities and education, collaborative problem solving, and encouraging resilience and independence. Teaching schedules and hours are negotiable and can be modified according to the needs of the teaching staff. Teaching hours would be a maximum of 25 hours per week. The candidate must be willing to lead classes in all weather conditions.
