Summary
The San Diego County Office of Education is seeking individuals to join our team as an Outdoor Education Specialist - Limited Term for the rest of the 2021-22 season at Cuyamaca Outdoor School. The residential outdoor education program, in operation since 1946, is located an hour east of San Diego in the 25,000-acre Cuyamaca Rancho State Park, elevation 4,000 feet. We connect children to science through nature in a weeklong, hands-on outdoor education experience.
The position places a strong emphasis on environmental education.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of natural and environmental sciences
- Works effectively with students and adults in small and large group settings
- Experience working in a residential outdoor education or recreation program with school-age children
- Has a passion for teaching in and about the natural world
- Demonstrates a positive attitude, adaptable personality, strong work ethic, and likes to have fun
- Completion of college-level course work in natural sciences or other related topics
Position Details
Immediate start date through June 10, 2022; $21.56 hourly rate, plus free room and board, and more; This is a limited-term position.
