Summary
Outdoor Education Instructors teach summer camps to kids in kindergarten through 9th grades. Montana Outdoor Science School (MOSS) programs provide an inclusive and accessible opportunity for children to explore and learn about the natural world. Additionally, we work to provide a memorable educational experience, learning through exploration and hands-on activities.
This position requires instructors to be comfortable outdoors and able to supervise and teach small groups of students independently in an outdoor environment for 6 or more hours daily.
Outdoor Education Instructors are responsible for implementing and maintaining safe, quality, and engaging outdoor education camps. These camps cover a variety of science topics - geology, hydrology, ecology, engineering, and more. Our summer camps are place-based and take place almost entirely outdoors. Outdoor Education Instructors work with a co-instructor to lead one of these camps each week. Camps are based out of Crosscut Mountain Sports Center. Some sessions include field trips around the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem as well as occasional single overnights.
You can find the detailed job description on our website.
