Nature Specialist needed for a small, progressive day camp in Northern Westchester, NY. Goldens Bridge Day Camp is a vibrant, inclusive summer camp nestled in the heart of nature. We believe in fostering a love for the outdoors while providing engaging and educational experiences for our campers.

Summary

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Nature Specialist to join our team for the upcoming summer season. The Nature Specialist will be responsible for designing and leading nature-based activities, guiding outdoor exploration, overnight camping experiences, and creating an environment that inspires curiosity and appreciation for the natural world.

Key Responsibilities: Develop and lead engaging nature-based activities while fostering curiosity and appreciation for the outdoors among campers. Create a safe and inclusive environment, guiding exploration of local flora, fauna, and ecosystems through hikes, crafts, interactive sessions, and overnight campouts, fostering a deeper connection with nature.

Qualifications:

Knowledge of local ecosystems; ability to impart this knowledge to campers.
Strong communication and leadership skills, especially in working with children.
Creativity and enthusiasm for designing engaging nature-focused activities

Additional Information

CPR and First Aid training will be provided
Seasonal position (July 1st-August 16th)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9-4, with the addition of camping overnights (next day off)
Location: Goldens Bridge, NY
