Three (3) Permanent Part-Time Nature Center Educator Assistants

Mecklenburg County Park & Recreation is excited to add innovative and dynamic Nature Center Educator Assistants to the team at McDowell Nature Center, Reedy Creek Nature Center and Stevens Creek Nature Center! These part-time positions will conduct environmental, education/interpretive programs for diverse audiences, such as preschoolers, elementary school groups and families. They will also assist with the development of educational exhibits, and interpretive trails, coordinating care and feeding of nature center exhibit animals, and maintaining wildlife gardens, and may also participate in outdoor recreation activities, such as canoeing and kayaking. The incumbents must be comfortable working in a natural, outdoor setting where wildlife is a valued and protected resource. These positions will work a varying schedule of 29 hours per week, which may include evenings, weekends and rotating holidays based on business needs.
