The Missouri Environmental Education Association (MEEA) is seeking a detail-oriented, inquisitive and self-motivated individual to assist the Executive Director in carrying out the tasks needed to achieve the mission of this growing organization. This person enjoys learning new things and is someone who enjoys working with adults, teachers, teens and children, and cares deeply about our planet. Most of the work will be done remotely, but training and office equipment will be provided.

Summary

Title:  Administrative Assistant for the Missouri Environmental Education Association (MEEA)

Start Date:  February 1, 2026. 
End Date:  December 31, 2026, (with option to renew annually upon satisfactory employment review)

Location:  Remote with occasional in-person meetings and events; must be located in Missouri

Reports To:  MEEA Executive Director 

Work Hours:

  • $18/hours
  • 15 hours per week
  • 6 unpaid holidays and 1 hour of paid sick leave accrued, per every 30 hours worked.

The Missouri Environmental Education Association (MEEA) is seeking a detail-oriented, inquisitive and self-motivated individual to assist the Executive Director (referred to hereafter as ED) in carrying out the tasks needed to achieve the mission of this growing organization. This person enjoys learning new things and is someone who enjoys working with adults, teachers, teens and children, and cares deeply about our planet. Most of the work will be done remotely, but training and office equipment will be provided.

The Missouri Environmental Education Association, a 501(c)(3) organization, is the Missouri Affiliate of the North American Association for Environmental Education. We promote excellence in environmental education and community engagement to connect all Missourians to the natural world. Our mission is to help educators connect every Missouri learner to the natural world and equip them to care, understand, and act for the environment.

What You’ll Do: 

MEEA serves as the backbone organization for environmental education providers across the state. The Administrative assistant will provide key administrative duties for the organization.

Compensation Information

$18/hour (15 hours/week)
