The Marine Education Center at The University of Southern Mississippi is seeking an enthusiastic educator to support hands-on ocean science and environmental literacy programs. This role delivers engaging education programs to diverse community audiences, assists with seasonal program development, and supports environmental monitoring efforts. Summary

The Marine Education Center (MEC) at The University of Southern Mississippi is seeking an enthusiastic educator to support hands-on ocean science and environmental literacy programs serving learners of all ages. This position is ideal for early-career professionals, informal educators, and recent graduates in science or education who are eager to gain experience in public engagement, field-based instruction, and community outreach. Responsibilities include delivering engaging education programs, assisting with seasonal program development, and collecting program evaluation and environmental monitoring data. The role offers opportunities to work with diverse audiences in dynamic classroom, lab, and outdoor settings.

Compensation Information

This position is classified as N04 within the University’s pay grade structure, with salary commensurate with education and experience. In 2024, N04 pay grade ranged  from $13.07 to $17.69 per hour.
