Manager of Discovery Room

The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences Manager of the Discovery Room is responsible for planning, developing, promoting, and managing the Discovery Room, a hands-on intergenerational learning exhibit which houses hundreds of natural specimens, models, costumes, and a few live animals including an observation honeybee hive. This position is responsible for developing and delivering programs to young children, their families, and teachers; providing technical expertise with regards to experiential learning and outdoor learning environments; and serving as one of the Museum’s experts in early childhood education. This position is responsible for scheduling, training, and managing staff (both permanent and temporary), volunteers, and interns assigned to the Discovery Room. This position also supervises and supports the Museum’s Birthday Party Manager and oversees the budget management of this program.
