The Lead Naturalist position delivers interpretive nature and environmental education programs for the Friends of the Great Plains Nature Center (FGPNC), a passionate 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
-Provide public engagement, environmental education, and nature program opportunities
-Work with a passionate team of staff and volunteers
-Takes the lead on husbandry for our educational animal ambassadors

Summary

The Lead Naturalist position implements and develops interpretive nature/environmental education programs for the 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization Friends of the Great Plains Nature Center (FGPNC). The Lead Naturalist position works closely with multiple staff to educate urban Wichita and surrounding communities about Kansas flora and fauna. Compensation Information

Type: Full time, salaried position.

Start Date: No earlier than July 7th, 2025

Pay: $36,000-$37,000 based on experience, paid monthly
