Are you a passionate educator who believes in the power of compassion, nature, and hands-on learning? The Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary is seeking a dynamic Lead Educator to revitalize our nature-based curriculum and lead educational programs that foster empathy for animals and the environment. This is a unique opportunity to shape transformative learning experiences at a sanctuary where animals, humans, and the natural world are honored equally.

Summary

The Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary in Newtown, CT, created in honor of Catherine Violet Hubbard, a 1st grade victim of the Sandy Hook Elementary tragedy is seeking a passionate Lead Educator to shape and deliver inspiring, hands-on learning experiences rooted in compassion, animal welfare, and environmental stewardship. This full-time role is ideal for outdoor or experiential educators who thrive in natural settings and are excited to reboot existing curriculum, create new age-appropriate content, and partner with schools and community groups to cultivate a love for the natural world. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in environmental education, science, or a related field, at least two years of outdoor teaching experience, and a deep commitment to inclusive, empathy-driven learning. First Aid/CPR certification is required.

Compensation Information

Compensation & Benefits
• $60,000–$70,000 annual salary
• 15 days PTO + 10 holidays
• $5,000 healthcare contribution
