Summary
The evaluator will use tools like QR codes, surveys, and observation to collect data on empathy-related content. They will manage all metrics, analyze results, and produce a report with recommendations for improving interpretive materials to meet program goals. This position has a set duration of approximately May 2025 – August 2025. (20 wks.) with an average of 35 hours per week. The pay range is $18.00 – $20.00 depending on experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create and implement a diverse range of assessment methods, including but not limited to, surveys, interviews, and interactive activities, to effectively gauge the level of empathy participants develop for wildlife, the natural environment, and the relationships they build with fellow participants.
- Systematically analyze the data collected from various evaluation tools to assess the impact of the program, identify trends, patterns and key takeaways and compile findings into actionable reports.
- Examine the data and performance metrics gathered throughout the evaluation process to identify strengths and gaps in the program’s current design and delivery.
Qualifications Required:
- Experience with evaluation design and analysis. Proven experience in positions that provided surveying and/or data management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Ability to treat confidential information with appropriate discretion.
- Experience with managing complex projects to completion.
- Individuals seeking graduate training are encouraged to apply.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Graduate student or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience in positions that provided surveying and/or data management.
- A passion for wildlife conservation and nature.
- Background relating to wildlife conservation, education or biology preferred.
- Previous outreach experience.

- Ability to operate computer and phones.
- Ability to communicate with visitors of diverse backgrounds. Communication will include both one-to-one communication and small and large group communication.
- Must be able to stand for 2-4 hours while conducting surveys.
- Occasionally required to lift and move items up to 20 pounds.
- Occasionally required to move throughout the building and the site.
- Ability to work remotely, in a stationary position for meetings and projects.
