Garden Education Manager

Bok Tower Gardens is seeking a full-time Education Manager. This position manages the planning of school programs, monitors program quality and effectiveness. Develops messages and innovative interpretive programs that enhance visitor knowledge of Bok Tower Gardens; develops, provides training and coaching that effectively identifies, articulates, and conveys the elements of successful interpretation; and evaluates the effectiveness of training and continuously seeks to improve and refine programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Develop and plan school programming integrating State Standards.
• Accurately schedule, record, and communicate information about programs, facilities, instructors, resources, registrations, and other data.
• Supervise, mentor, and coach education staff.
• Evaluate school programming, including annual surveys for students and teachers.
• Understand, track and work to complete budgetary goals set by the supervisor by maintaining up-to-date records and spreadsheets.
• Prepare and provide program information for grant proposals
• Develop strategies for interpretation that prioritize visitor engagement through reflection, creative participation, and empowering experiences.
• Ensure interpretation embodies the Garden's mission and strategic plan and welcomes all audiences by honoring cultures, abilities, backgrounds, and lived experiences.
• Evaluate interpretive efforts to understand the educational, cultural, and social impacts on visitors.
• Supervise Tower Guide volunteers. Provide ongoing coaching and evaluation to ensure volunteers convey accurate information.
• Work with departments to provide specific training modules for staff and volunteers.
• Create a welcoming environment with a high level of customer service.
