Come nurture the next generation of young naturalist on the amazing Olympic Peninsula in a great town on the Salish Sea. CedarRoot Folk School is seeking a nurturing Instructor to lead its Sapling Forest Preschool program

Job Description:
CedarRoot School provides outdoor learning programs that mentor students in building a strong relationship with the natural world through play, nature awareness, wilderness skills and landscape exploration. The lead instructor will create a safe environment for children ages 3-6 to engage in the mysteries of this amazing world.

Hours: ~25 hours/week, M-F 8:45am-1pm, starting end of June 2022.

Requirements:

  • Vaccinated from Covid-19
  • Experience teaching and working with children, ideally outdoors
  • Capacity to be outside in all weather (and enjoy it!)
  • Have a genuine enjoyment of teaching and good rapport with students
  • Ability to communicate professionally with parents and other staff
  • Coordinate with the Executive Director regarding group dynamics and pertinent parent interactions that are consistent with the values of CedarRoot Folk School.
  • Participate in staff enrichment and professional development

Compensation:
Starting pay $20/hr DOE. A quarterly review may result in subsequent pay raises based on performance.
