Summary
The Executive Director provides visionary and inclusive leadership to advance BOPN’s mission of nature-based early childhood education. They partner with the Board of Directors to shape organizational strategy, oversee high-quality programs across all sites, and ensure financial sustainability. This role supports fundraising and external relations, cultivates relationships with families, funders, and community partners, and represents BOPN publicly through advocacy and community engagement.
The Executive Director leads and mentors the senior leadership team, fosters a positive and equitable organizational culture, and ensures compliance with all relevant licensing, safety, and regulatory requirements. They also guide board relations, support governance and strategic planning, and ensure mission-aligned growth and innovation across the organization.
Qualifications & Competencies:
- Proven leadership experience in nonprofit management, education, or a related field
- Strong alignment with BOPN’s mission and commitment to equity, inclusion, and belonging
- Experience in financial management, organizational operations, and multisite program oversight
- Knowledge of early childhood education, nature-based learning, or youth-serving organizations
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and collaborative leadership skills

Compensation & Benefits
BOPN offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that include health insurance, paid time off, professional development support, and flexible/hybrid work arrangement based in Massachusetts.
Salary Range: $75,000 - $80,000
