The Environmental Specialist III position serves as the program coordinator responsible for the environmental education programs within the Office of Resilience and Coastal Protection at the Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve.

Summary

The Work You Will Do:

In this position you will develop and implement the National Estuarine Environmental Education program within the Reserve in accordance with state and federal policies and guidelines of the Department of Environmental Protection and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) for distribution in regional school systems at all grade levels including adult education.

Reserve educators strive to create a special sense of wonder and discovery that are important in developing a strong bay stewardship ethic. Learners of all ages benefit from spending time with our knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff and volunteers. Guided tours are conducted pending staff availability. Pre-arranged children's K-8 programs are focused around the many resources available at the nature center and make use of the exhibits and nearby bay shore habitats. Pre-arranged high school programs take advantage of our place-based ability to get students into contact with nature and are conducted at various field locations. Compensation Information

The approved pay rate for this position is $50,470.00 annually for 40 working hours per week. There is no state income tax for residents of Florida.
