Job Description:
Maryland Environmental Service (MES) is seeking an Environmental Specialist (ES) to join the Environmental Dredging and Restoration Group at our Headquarters facility in Millersville, Maryland. The position includes various components; environmental education and outreach (assist the education team with developing and delivering educational outreach programs, including classroom presentations and site tours), field work (assist various environmental specialists in sampling, monitoring, invasive control, avian monitoring), office (assist with writing and formatting technical reports, data review and compilation). Occasional evening and weekend work will be required.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in environmental education, or biology, environmental science, ecology, or a related field from an accredited college or university and one year of related experience. Must have a valid driver’s license with less than 5 points and be able to lift 50 pounds.
Preferred qualifications:
Preferred candidate must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, will have some experience with environmental education programs, avian field identification capabilities, and fluency in MS Office Suite.

Compensation Information
Estimated Pay Range:
$43,811.20 - $48,000.00
