Summer Camp Counselors are responsible for creating the fun of Summer Day Camp at PEEC. Counselors are responsible for facilitating programming, camper care and supervision, and safety and risk management. Work with a dynamic team of environmental science enthusiasts and come away with invaluable work experience and life skills. PEEC is an open partner for internship credit with higher education organizations.

Summary

The Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC) is located within the National Park Service's Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. The center's outdoor classroom consists of a 38-acre campus with easy access to over 250,000 acres of public lands.

BROAD FUNCTIONS:

Summer Camp Counselors at PEEC perform three major duties: program delivery, program development, and camper management and supervision.  Sample responsibilities include:

  • Provide quality environmental education programs for PEEC’s Summer Day Camp. 
  • Supervise and care for groups of campers ranging from ages 4 through 16 with a group of 2-4 staff members.
  • Participate in facility and instructional materials up-keep and occasional receptionist duties.
  • Any additional responsibilities that further the mission of PEEC and its operations. 

EMPLOYMENT WINDOW

Full-time, seasonal employment begins June 15th, 2026 and concludes at the end of August 2026. Potential extensions may be available at the beginning or end of these contracted dates based on need and availability. Limited full-time Fall & Winter positions may be available.

Compensation Information

Salary: $880 biweekly

Housing is provided but not mandatory.
