Summary
Get Outdoors Nevada (GON) is seeking a highly-organized, self-motivated Education Manager to lead the execution of interpretative and educational programs in GON’s Education Department, and overseeing the employees who are completing required tasks. This is a permanent, full-time position with benefits.
The Education Program Manager works under the direction of the Director of Programs to lead the execution of interpretative and educational programs in GON’s Education Department, including: both in-person and virtual environmental education programs, outreach activities, and interpretive tables to diverse audiences - mainly youth. These programs are designed to generate knowledge and awareness of locally-relevant topics, increase interest in science and nature, foster community connection, develop stewardship behaviors, and often support formal educational standards. The Education Program Manager is tasked with overseeing the employees who are completing the required tasks. A program manager oversees and works with their team to implement the plans given to them by the director. They are involved in the scheduling of projects and ensuring it stays on budget. They lead team meetings, perform program reviews, and collaborate with coordinators when direction is needed. This is a full-time, salary position, at 40 hours per week.
