Mid-Columbia Fisheries Enhancement Group (MCF) is looking for a passionate individual to fill the position of Education, Outreach, and Monitoring Assistant, through the Washington Conservation Corps (WCC) Individual Placement program
This position is ideal for an outgoing, organized, detail-oriented and independently motivated person with experience working with the public and a passion for the outdoors and environmental education.

Summary

The Education, Outreach, and Monitoring Assistant will have a variety of responsibilities during the 11-month service term with Mid-Columbia Fisheries Enhancement Group. Project responsibilities will include coordinating volunteer work parties to improve fish habitat,  attending community outreach events, assisting with in-class and field based educational experiences for K-12 students, assisting with the creation educational materials and resources, clerical and logistical support, and working alongside MCF staff and seasonal technicians to assist with a variety of field work which may include but is not limited to: monitoring the success of restoration projects, restoration and stewardship activities, and bull trout recovery.

Compensation Information

  • Living allowance of $1,441 *twice a month ($2,882 per month, before taxes)
  • AmeriCorps Education Award of $7,395 (scholarship) upon successful completion of the 11-month contract (1,700 service hours).
