Our Education Management Internship offers hands-on experience in data entry, managing projects, and understanding how a dynamic education department operates. Summary
Opportunities & Responsibilities
- Execute a capstone project that allows you to develop a comprehensive boat tour script, gaining hands-on experience in program design and delivery. Collaborate on professional development programs for education staff to sharpen leadership and training skills.
- Participate in skill-building workshops focused on feedback delivery, emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, and other essential professional skills.
- Contribute to the success of the Education Department by gaining practical experience in data collection, analysis, report preparation, and administrative operations.
- Play a key role in designing and delivering engaging educational programs and tours, inspiring guests and sharing your passion for marine science.
- Expand your communication and teamwork capabilities through collaborative feedback processes and active participation in program evaluations.
- Gain experience managing groups of up to 25 children, fostering a safe and enriching learning environment during classroom and field activities.
- Develop confidence and versatility in public speaking while presenting to diverse audiences in dynamic educational settings.
- Take part in shaping future educational events by offering thoughtful insights and creative recommendations.
- Stay engaged with professional growth by attending training sessions and team meetings aligned with organizational goals.

Qualifications & Physical Requirements:
- Candidates should be juniors or seniors actively working toward a degree in Education, Marine Science, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field. Freshmen and sophomores with relevant experience may also be considered.
- Must pass a State and National Criminal History Review and receive approval from the Florida Department of Children and Families to work with summer camp children.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including holidays, based on business needs, is required.
- Formal or informal teaching experience and/or experience working with children is a plus.
- Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft programs, is a plus.
- Must be able to perform physical activities, including lifting up to 50 lbs, extensive walking and standing, and working in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and humidity.
