Summary
NASA climate scientists and place-based interpreters come together to make amazing things happen. Interpreters develop programs linking the latest climate science to issues at their sites. Scientists discover new and more effective ways to communicate their research. Working side by side, they help a wide variety of audiences discover nuanced climate stories and reasons for hope. Join our team to create engaging workshops that help interpreters connect to global climate science and get the support they need to craft impactful products and programs.
This individual will work with the lead and other team members in:
- Designing, developing and delivering in-person climate change communication workshops and courses for interpreters and place-based informal educators
- Researching relevant science content and providing this to the community via the web presence and mailing list
- Maintaining, updating, and improving the website to better engage the community
- Nurturing and supporting the national community of practice and the community of practice of Regional Leaders
- Participating in, supporting, and contributing to NASA education/community efforts
- Facilitating collaborative work on science and science communication/education efforts between NASA and land management agencies
- Devising and implementing practices to promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and access for the community
