What could be better than sunshine and children's laughter? The instructors at ROCS all think we have the best job ever, and we are looking to expand our team! We currently have an opening for a part-time educator on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings for our preschool program.

Summary

The Rolla Outdoor Collaborative School is an outdoor education program located in South Central Missouri. Our program is 100% outdoors, taking place throughout the regular school year in addition to summer camp programs. Currently, we have a 5-day morning preschool program, a homeschool enrichment program two afternoons a week, and an afterschool program one day a week. Our program takes place in the beautiful 70-acre Ozark Rivers Audubon Trails Nature Center. We are a 501c3 non-profit and are one of just a handful of regularly-led outdoor programs in our state. We have experienced a high rate of growth since our conception in the summer of 2021. We are seeking a qualified candidate to help continue our journey of growth and to fulfill our mission of bringing more children to learn and play in the great outdoors.

The Rolla Outdoor Collaborative School is looking to fill a part-time teaching position to assist with our morning preschool age program. The qualified person will have a great affinity for teaching and nature. Ideally this person will have some experience working with children and possess some knowledge of the natural world, however, this is not necessary. Support and education for learning our native flora and fauna will be available. We value life long-learning and modeling that for our participants. The candidate must be comfortable participating in a curriculum that is both inclusive and culturally responsible, utilizing nature as the organizing principle for all learning. They will demonstrate great enthusiasm, creativity, and energy. The candidate will share responsibility for the coordination and implementation of the preschool curriculum with a special focus on nature centric activities.

In the mornings (8:30 am to 12:30 pm) at least 2 days per week. The maximum number of hours would be 20 per week. The candidate must be willing to lead classes in all weather conditions. Our school year goes through the end of May, with the opportunity to work through the summer for our camps. Pay will be based on experience. For more information about our school, please visit our website at www.rollaoutdoorschool.org. Qualified candidates should send a letter of interest and their resume to director@rollaoutdoorschool.org
