Director of Outdoor Preschool

Seeking a collaborative director, teacher and leader who enjoys learning alongside preschool kids, mentoring parents and educators, and mucking about with constructivist learning outdoors. Well established and supported program in the Seattle area www.fieldandforest.org is seeking a new Director to continue our play-based forest school on our lovely private land, in association with The Attic Learning Community www.the-attic.org 

If you love young learners and the outdoors, are likely to say “Hmmm…what do you see?” instead of instantly identify a plant for a child, and you are up to the generalist challenge of running a thriving preschool program, please apply by sending a resume and cover letter to [email protected]  

Preference to those with experience mentoring diverse families and learning alongside young children outdoors. Certification and education in teaching outdoors and/or ECE helpful. BA/MA/MS in related subject desirable, life experience most important. Must research and resonate with the educational philosophy of The Attic Learning Community. Robust, science based, diverse, and constructivist team to work with. 

Compensation $25-30/hr DOE, Training starting April 2022 or as candidate is available, 3-4 days/wk schedule with benefits-available position starting September 2022.
