We are a small agency so opportunities to collaborate with other departments and work closely with conservation and land management staff are many! Summary

The Director of Education, under supervision of the Executive Director, is a fulltime position responsible for:

Developing educational programs and overseeing their implementation, including summer camp.
Supervising education staff, including the program support coordinator, program educators, and summer camp staff.
Managing the education, volunteer, marketing, and event budgets with guidance from the Executive Director.
Writing and executing grants relating to environmental education.
Serving as liaison to education partners with other government agencies and non-governmental organizations.
Serving as part of the leadership team to review, prioritize, plan, and troubleshoot issues.
Understanding all rules, regulations, and district information and conveying this to conservation area users, staff, and program participants.
Working in cooperation with directors, managers, and employees to carry out the mission of the Boone County Conservation District.

Compensation Information

Compensation Range: $55,000 - $65,000

Paid vacation, sick time, and holidays. Health, dental, and vision insurance. Enrollment in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund.

Anticipated starting date is early April.
