The Director of Development will lead efforts to achieve annual giving, major gift, and capital campaign fundraising goals. The position works closely with NMWC leadership, staff, Board members and friends to create and steward donor relationships. We seek a dynamic, results-oriented professional with a demonstrated record of successful fundraising and a passion for wildlife. 

What’s Required:

  • A passion for our mission to protect New Mexico’s wildlife through rehabilitation, conservation, education, and public engagement.
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors. 
  • Educate and support senior management and Board with respect to fundraising.
  • Collaborate with Executive Director, Leadership Team, Board and NMWC friends on prospect identification, proposal development, enhancing existing and/or creating new fundraising initiatives, and coordination of supporting activities.
  • Utilize NMWC’s donor management database to ensure stewardship of current, past and prospective donors.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of NMWC’s hospital and education program in order to share our story and donor impact.
  • Travel as appropriate to meet prospects and donors, and to attend NMWC programs and events. 

Required Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution.
  • Five or more years of successful fundraising and development experience.

Compensation Information

Annual salary range $90,000–$100,000.
