Summary

The mission of Denver Forest School is to provide quality early learning experiences for children by reconnecting them with the natural world through exploration, enquiry and investigation. Our vision is for all young children to engage with their natural environment and gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for the world in which they live. Children and families will spend more time outdoors benefiting from the physical, cognitive and social-emotional development. Denver Forest School believes that young children learn best when given the opportunity to explore and make sense of the world around them. In our case, we feel that the natural world provides the best opportunities for our children to learn and grow. Children are naturally curious and we want to foster that wonder through engagement with the plants, animals, and the natural materials found outside. As an educator at Denver Forest School, this means being prepared for any learning opportunity that may arise. Our emergent curriculum focuses on the process of learning and evolves based on what the children discover and what they identify as interesting and/or personally meaningful to them. The strength of our program is determined by your ability to expand upon children’s discoveries and to facilitate the learning process.
