Summary
Responsible for planning lessons, coordinating activities and work for weekly themed summer camps at White Clay Creek State Park.
- May develop and facilitate educational programs for schools and special events. May lead school environmental education programs tied to state standards to increase student understanding of Delaware’s natural and cultural resources.
- May deliver interpretive programs to participants of all ages in a variety of contexts. Provides general customer service and park information to visitors. Distributes interpretive publications. May lead educational and recreational hikes, canoe and kayak trips plus programs for park visitors.
- May include live animal care and handling. Must be able to demonstrate responsibility, dependability and good communication skills. Maintain a positive attitude. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Must be at least 20 years of age. One year experience working in a camp program for children or young adults. One year experience in supervising groups, staff or volunteers. Knowledge of various recreational activities such as hiking, mountain biking, boating, rock climbing or swimming.
Knowledge of local plants, animals or history. Possession of a valid driver’s license (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).
