Summary
Science Eye is a science and environmental education consulting company located in and doing most programs in Broward County but also serves and travels to Palm Beach and Miami-Dade counties. Job Summary:
In-The-Field
Both of our all-school-day field programs meets students/groups at their school and ride a bus to our field location. Our main program is the Everglades Experience and takes place at Sawgrass Recreation Park. The other occasional field program is the Coastal Exploration to Mizell-Johnson State Park. (most often the school day, could be extended)
In-The-Class
In-School topics may include Earth, physics & engineering, life, and social sciences. These in-class field trips are usually 1-1.5 hours long each and may be half-a-day, or throughout the entire school day. Programs mostly are in Broward, but may be anywhere in the tri-county area. (most often the school day, could be extended)
After School
Topics may include the same as the In-The-Class programs, but are after school at various schools. Most currently take place in Miami-Dade, but may be anywhere in the tri-county area. (most often1 hour, but may be longer)
Weekends, Breaks & Camps
Any programs we offer during the school day may take place on weekends and over school breaks/camps. Weekend programs are not common and are verified with staff before booking.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
Increase program groups, manage inventory supplies and materials, aid in training part-time employees, oversee social media, and act as a liaison between Science Eye and other academic and environmental communities when needed.
Qualifications:
Applicants must have:
- Valid driver’s license
- Pass a fingerprint background check
- Be a U.S. citizen or foreign citizen’s U.S. work permit
- Have the means to drive themselves with equipment throughout the tri-county area
- Have or will obtain 1st Aid/CPR certification
To successfully perform within this position, applicants should be engaging, be able to work independently, effectively communicate, be able to work outside in the Southeast Florida’s environments all day, and be able to work with children who possess a diverse array of learning modalities.
Terms & Employment
School day programs are usually 6-7 hours/day anywhere between 7am-4:30pm, M-F. After school programs can be any time between 2pm-6pm. Occasional weekend and/or evening programs.

Compensation Information
Part time is $15-$20 hourly based on experience teaching programs within the tri-county area (training pay is state minimum wage). Full time equates to $17/hour salary.
