Summary

Community Engagement/Marketing Manager

Our mission is to inspire a life-long connection to nature and community through creative exploration of the outdoors. We are seeking a creative and charismatic leader to join our team to dedicate high energy to the visitors’ experience and marketing.

Position Responsibilities

Community Engagement:

  • Develop and implement strategies to engage the community, both locals and tourists, in the nature center including program offerings.
  • Partner with the Community Engagement Committee and education team to plan and implement community events in accordance with Wild Bear’s mission, vision and values.
  • With Education team support, update, create, maintain exhibits
  • Daily operations of the nature center, including maintaining the staffing schedule, providing excellent customer service.
  • Manage emails and phone calls with a timely and appropriate response.
  • With all staff support, generate volunteer interest and involvement in all aspects of Wild Bear.

Marketing:

  • Maintain a positive, creative, and mission-aligned social media presence
  • Create online newsletters to constituents through SquareSpace.
  • Design print media as needed for programs, fundraising appeals, and events.
  • Work with Education team to increase program participation
  • Submit free calendar listings for all events.

 Events:

  • In collaboration with the Community Engagement Committee, plan and implement community programs and events both within and outside of the nature center.
  • Recruit, organize, and document volunteers to support events in the nature center.
  • Support Volunteer events such as the Foothills United Way Day of Caring

Gift Shop:

  • Support the gift shop team to be sure items are displayed, priced and tracked properly in Square
  • Monitor and manage with the gift shop team the online gift shop

  • Understands the nonprofit structure and is passionate about building relationships in the community
  • Passionate about Wild Bear Nature Center’s mission and vision and is able to speak about it to individuals and community

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Pass a State of Colorado and FBI background checks
  • Demonstrated computer/IT skills such as Canva, Adobe, Photoshop, Google Suite, Microsoft, WordPress
  • Social Media and marketing experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Compensation Information

Compensation:

$45,000/year salaried with room for advancement

Full-time, year-round, In person position, located in Nederland, CO

Benefits to activate after 90 days of employment

PTO:  accrued monthly at 80 hours/year Personal time: 80 hours/year

11 paid holidays per year   Health stipend: $150/month
