Summary
Job Description:
This Community Engagement Coordinator position resides in the newly formed Conservation Lands and Resources (CLR) department. This position develops and implements strategies to engage community members, partners, volunteers, and other stakeholders in support of CLR conservation mission, goals, and objectives. The Community Engagement Coordinator acts as a liaison with Pima County’s Communications department and works closely with CLR staff to develop messaging and craft compelling stories that spotlight CLR projects, programs, and educational opportunities. This position is responsible for managing the department’s dynamic volunteer program including recruitment, interviews, orientation, and celebrations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement community engagement strategies.
- Coordinate administration of volunteer program.
- Work with CLR leadership and department staff to discuss goals and coordinate outreach direction.
- Assist in maintaining regular communication with community and other stakeholders via newsletters and other communications.
- Develop and implement social media strategy and manage social media and other communication channels.
- Work with the County Communications department to ensure messaging and format are consistent with established standards.
- Support CLR leadership and managers in building and maintaining relationships with community members and stakeholders across a variety of geographic areas and programs.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate community engagement efforts.
- Create and distribute promotional materials and communications.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of community engagement initiatives.
- Provide regular reports on community engagement activities and outcomes.
- Develop and maintain a database of community contacts and resources.
- Represent the organization at community events and meetings.
- Act as initial point of contact with constituents and Board of Supervisor office personnel.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Marketing and Communications, Education Leadership and Administration, Public Relations and Administration, Behavioral Science, Political or Social Sciences, and Natural or Cultural resource science or related field AND two years of experience coordinating community engagement and/or volunteer management activities.
OR:
- Four years of experience coordinating community engagement and/or volunteer management activities.

Compensation Information
Hiring Range: $52,251.00 - $62,701.00 Annually
