We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Communications Manager to join our team. The Communications Manager will play a crucial role in shaping and delivering our message to diverse audiences, increasing our visibility, and promoting our mission to address climate change through innovative technology and advocacy.

Communications Manager


Eligibility
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen who currently resides in one of the 50 U.S. States or Washington, D.C. (At this time, Folia Technologies does not provide sponsorship for visas such as H-1B.) 
  • Must be between the ages of 18 and 30 by September 1, 2024.
  • Current high school student OR current undergraduate/graduate student at an accredited 2 or 4-year institution. 
Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, digital media, or a related field OR have experience in social media management and marketing communications.
  • Experience managing social media accounts for an organization, club, personal brand, etc.
  • Basic understanding of digital marketing principles and strategies.
  • Basic understanding of environmental stewardship and STEM concepts.
  • Experience creating content (text, image, and video) for various social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn).
  • Basic graphic design skills, with familiarity with tools such as Canva.
  • Ability to analyze social media metrics and adjust content creation strategies accordingly.
  • Possess a creative and enthusiastic personality with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop engaging and informative content for social media platforms, annual reports, press releases, and monthly newsletters.
  • Create multimedia content, including graphics, videos, and infographics, to enhance the organization's messaging.
  • Manage the organization’s social media accounts (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn) by posting regular updates.
  • Develop and implement social media strategies to increase awareness and engagement.
  • Monitor social media trends, tools, and applications, and apply that knowledge to increase the organization’s social media presence.

Compensation Information

Compensation Information

Location: Fully Remote

Start Date: October 4, 2024 

Time commitment: Selected applicant is expected to work remotely and mostly asynchronously from Monday to Friday, for approximately 10 hours each week. This position is great for youth who hope to maintain other commitments, such as being a full-time or part-time student.

Compensation: $15 per hour
