Summary

The Connecticut River Conservancy has been working since 1952 to protect and restore New England’s Great River. We are an ambitious and committed organization that has been growing and changing over the past ten years as we expand our work in all four watershed states: Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. Our programs impact everyone who lives in or visits the 11,000 square mile watershed. That’s a lot of different people who engage with rivers in many different ways. Our work can be technical. Our work can be fun. Our work can be contentious. Our work can be inspiring. And our work is changing as we evaluate our mission in light of diversity, equity, and belonging.

We are looking for our next Communications Director to build on the work we have done to engage with our members, the general public, and decision makers around the region and nation. You can help us introduce more people to the river and encourage them to join the fight to protect it.

This position works in collaboration with staff across the organization and manages a growing budget that supports our website, social media, e-news, print publications, and other communication strategies. We want to increase the scope and effectiveness of our communication and engagement throughout the watershed.

Tell us how you would want to do that with us and what experience, expertise, and passions you would bring to our team. Spanish fluency a plus. We are committed to recruiting, hiring, and sustaining a diverse workforce.

The Connecticut River Conservancy requires all employees to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. We are pleased to offer health, vision, dental, and retirement benefits to all full-time employees. Please reach out with any questions about our current COVID-19 safety procedures and/or benefits packages.
