Summary
Santa Fe Botanical Garden is seeking a full-time Education Manger to plan, organize, and implement the delivery of high-quality educational content in all aspects of adult, as well as youth and family educational programming for the Garden.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Program Continuation, Restart/Development (the Garden’s adult programs have been restarted, while its youth/family programs have largely been suspended since July, 2020):
• Further development, coordination and oversight of the Garden’s education programs, often with community outdoor education partners, focused on students and teachers in Santa Fe and the surrounding area
• Serve as the Garden’s principal representative in the various educationally focused community collaborations and managing the Garden’s formal programs and educational partnerships
• Continue collaboration with other like-minded institutions to maximize inclusiveness and outreach to all Santa Fe communities.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Schedule and deliver educational programs (hands-on workshops, lectures, classes, trainings, hikes, and other adult and youth programs) at the Garden’s physical site
• Manage logistics, planning, and teaching of docent & greeter trainings and education
• Assist in developing and managing the education budget, including inventorying, purchasing and maintaining supplies and equipment
• Prepare participant evaluations to consistently measure program effectiveness and impact
• Maintain participant, instructor, and attendance information in databases
• Responsible for the on-line registration of participants in education workshops, lectures, and other adult programming, including input of programs and events into Blackbaud Altru software, updating attendees, and preparing text and links for the website, monthly e-newsletter and volunteer newsletter.
• Reserve program spaces, contact speakers, assemble materials, set up AV, and provide other logistical support for workshops, lectures, classes, and other programs
• Be present during education programs to assist with logistics, registration and arrangements.
• Work with Garden volunteers to update materials, visitor handouts and safety information
• Seek out creative adult education programming from resources in the community
• Related administrative duties including assisting in organizational-wide events.
Other Requirements:
• Experience in outdoor informal environmental education, including general knowledge of regional ecology, environmental science, and the historical and cultural landscape of Northern New Mexico
• Assist in identifying grants and relationship building with funding sources (foundations and program donors)
• Relationships with the Santa Fe educational community (schools and other non-profits)
• Frequent weekend and occasional evening hours required, necessitating a flexible schedule
• Strong computer skills required, experience with Blackbaud Altru software, or other management databases preferred
• Fluency in reading, writing, and conversational Spanish preferred
Educational Requirements
Required Bachelor’s Degree or 5 Years Equivalent
Preferred Experience Master’s Degree or 8 Years Equivalent Experience
Experience Requirements
Preferred 5 years Nonprofit, Teaching, and/or Adult Education
