Climate Education Presenters will deliver Action for the Climate Emergency’s (ACE) in-person climate education assembly program, Our Climate Our Future Live, in local high schools. They will perform a 30-minute script alongside animations within a Prezi and answer questions about climate change.

Summary

Program Delivery 

  • Memorizes 30-minute script to perform alongside dynamic, engaging animation
  • Conducts outreach via email, phone, and in-person meetings to book program at local high schools
  • Delivers ACE’s in-person education program via assembly presentations at local high schools
  • Achieves goals of 7,000 students reached in 2024 spring semester (approximately 18 weeks of running program) with 20% of students joining ACE’s list and 3% of students registering / pre-registering to vote
  • Represents ACE professionally in interactions with partners, teachers, and all external relationships 
  • Documents and follows-up according to ACE protocols
  • Manages and hands off student and teacher relationships to ACE Organizing and Field staff

Minimum Qualifications

  • Public speaking expertise – if you love acting, public speaking, or improv, this position is for you!
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and creativity
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to cultivate and manage partnerships and internal and external relationships
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Strong computer skills (Google Apps, Microsoft Suite, Salesforce, task management platform such as Monday.com)
  • Comfortable working remotely and as part of a small team 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, consistent access to a car (or live in an area with abundant car share or public transportation options), and be willing to travel within a two-hour radius around regional hub   
  • Strong understanding of climate science and passion for climate justice 

Compensation Information

    • Schedule: 40 hours per week
    • Hourly pay: $28-30 per hour
    • Deadline to apply: October 27, 2023
    • Location: Remote, located in the Metro Areas of Milwaukee, Philadelphia, Detroit, Atlanta, Phoenix, Las Vegas 
  • This is a temporary position through the end of the 2023-24 school year, approximately late May through mid-June 2024.
