Our innovative outdoor learning experiences include both overnight and day Campus School Programs for elementary aged students on our 250-acre sustainably designed Bainbridge Campus. The Campus School Programs Manager is a full-time member of the professional education team. 

The Manager’s roles and responsibilities focus on 3 main areas: implementing the strategic vision of the Campus School Programs, supporting the EEC Graduate Program as a mentor and faculty member, and supervising a team of coordinators, educators, and instructors. This position supervises Program Coordinators, Lead Instructors, Educators and Program Registrar. This role will also provide occasional support for some of the elements of the Community Education portfolio. Responsibilities will include providing high level support for summer camp coordinator and Community Education programs.

Job Title: Campus School Programs Manager
Classification: Full-time/Annual; Salaried/Exempt
Pay Range: $56,000 to $58,000
Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday; 9am – 5pm with ~2 evenings/month-Some weekends

Position Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the development and maintenance of culturally responsive curriculum for the Campus School Programs
  • Collaborates with School Community Partnerships and Community Education teams to ensure consistency across curricula
  • Works with Director of School & Community Education and Finance team to ensure fiscal sustainability of Campus School Programs
  • Ensures daily processes stay in line with annual budget
  • In conjunction with Director of Youth & Family Programs, develops, and oversees evaluation measures to determine impact of the Campus School Programs
  • Participates in all Campus School Programs, mentoring, EEC faculty, school orientations, and education team meetings
  • Supervises a team of Program Coordinators, Lead Instructors and Educators to ensure appropriate goal-setting and cutting-edge instruction
  • Provides training, modeling, and support for grads during orientation and throughout the year
  • Mentors EEC graduate students, observing them teaching in the field, providing written and verbal feedback, and responding to grad reflections
  • Carries out other duties as needed and assigned by supervisor

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in natural science, environmental education, or related field
  • Two years of elementary school teaching experience, or equivalent training
  • Two years of experience teaching elementary age students in a residential setting
  • Management and supervisory experience, including budget management
  • Demonstrated commitment to educational equity and social justice
  • In-depth practical and theoretical understanding of Culturally Responsive Teaching and exploring curriculum for implicit bias
  • Experience working with and within diverse communities to develop shared visions and strategies
  • Understanding of and first-hand experience in multicultural education
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Wilderness First Aid and CPR certification (can be provided by IslandWood)
